Individual Note
Charles Curtis Jarrett, the eighth child born to John Wesley Jarrett Sr. and Mary Jane Nichols was born May 8, 1899. Both parents preceeded him in death.
He received his education in the public school of Tonganoxie, Kansas.
He moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he worked in private family as a cook and chauffeur and moved with the family to Los Angeles.
He served in World War II as a Corporal, after entering September 18, 1942 and was honorably discharged January 5, 1945 in Fort Douglas, Utah. He also was a member of the Defense Corps of the Los
Angeles Fire Watcher Service
He was employed as a Forman at the New Plastic Corp. for several years and returned back to Tonganoxie in 1960.
He united with the First baptist Church where he served faithfully and was a member of the choir and served in many other capacities about the church.
In later years due to poor health he spent time in the Tonganoxie Nursing Center and in the Veterans Hospital of Leavenworth where he demised January 9, 1994.
His survivors are one devoted sister, Ann Jarrett of the horne, 3 sisters-in-law, Marie Jarrett and Gladys Jarrett, Tonganoxie, Mrs. Edith Jarrett, Kansas City, Ks., a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends.
