Note on Wife: Effa JARRETT

MRS. EFFA ADELIA JACKSON 97, of 116 E. 6th Street, Tonganoxie, Kansas. Oldest daughter of 12 children born to the late John Wesley I and Mary Jane Nichols Jarrett, passed away Saturday July 13th at the Laur-ence Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Tonganoxie, Kansas May 23, 1888 where she grew up. After marrying she moved to Atchison, Kansas and also lived in Omaha, Nebraska for a number of years before returning to Atchlson, and married her second husband John W. Jackson who proceeded her in death in 1963.

She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, and Past Matron Of Estella Chapter # 4 Order of the Eastern Star, of Atchison, and held other offices.

After her husbands demise she moved back to Tonganoxie, Kansas and united with the First Baptist Church in 1970 and was the Church Mother.

She leaves a brother,. Mr. Charles C. Jarrett; two sisters, Mrs. Jean Mary Nelson and Miss. Ann E. Jarrett; three sister-in-laws, Mrs. Edith Jarrett, Mrs. Marie Jarrett, and Mrs. Gladys Jarrett; and host of nieces and nephews and friends.
