Richard Eugene Jarrett was born December 18,1926 to Robert and Edith Jarrett, of Kansas City, Kansas. He was one of seven children. His father, Robert and brothers, John and Nelson preceded him in death. He was a Baptist.

He worked for Social Security for 17 years and McFarland Music in Newark, New Jersey for 25 years. He loved bowling and dominoes. He belonged to a professional Bowling League.

Richard departed this life October 26, 1994 at his residence. He leaves to cherish his memory: His mother, Edith Jarrett, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three sisters, Thelma King, of Kansas City, Missouri, Laura Williams, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Estella Tompkins, of Inglewood, California; one brother, Carl Jarrett, of Kansas City, Kansas; three aunts, Ann, Marie and Gladys Jarrett, all of Tonganoxie, Kansas; a special friend, Delores Gilmore; a host of neices, nephews, cousins and friends.
