Sharon Jeanne Tatum was born July 3, 1939 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was the second child born to Elmer and Thelma (Jarrett) Price. Her mother and stepfather Thelma and Walter King, maternal grandparents Robert and Edith Jarrett, paternal grandmother Anne Carter, uncles John, Nelson and Richard Jarrett preceded her in death.
Sharon attended Dunbar Elementary School, Northeast Junior High School and graduated from Sumner High School in 1957. Sharon was employed by the Missouri Department of Transportation, Kansas City, Missouri.
Sharon dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Strangers Rest Baptist Church, Kansas City, Kansas. She was married to Frederick Tatum, Sr. in 1957 and to this union was born a son, Frederick, Jr.
Sharon was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She departed this life on Wednesday, July 23,2003 at the Baptist- Lutheran Medical Center.
Sharon leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband of forty-six years Frederick, Sr., a devoted son Frederick Tatum, Jr. (Rosemary) grandson Justin Tatum, granddaughters Jocelyn and Carmen of St. Louis, Mo., sister Carole Newton (Harl), Kansas City, Kansas, sister Dianne King and brother Walter King (Patsy), Kansas City, Missouri, father Elmer Price (Maxine) Kansas City, Missouri, brother-in-law Elijah L. Tatum and sister-in-laws Sophie Tatum and Janie Baker of Kansas City MO., aunts Enoma Williams (Rev. J.B.) of Colorado Springs, CO. and Estella Tompkins (Alfonse) of Inglewood, CA., uncle Carl Jarrett (Audrey) Kansas City, Kansas, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
