Note on Husband: Courtney Thomas REDMOND JR.

Courtney T. Redmond, son of Dorothy Nelson Redmond and Courtney Redmond, was born on March 15, 1918 in Kansas City, Kansas

He attended school in the Kansas City, Kansas School System and graduated from Sumner High School in 1936. He attended Junior College and moved to Denver, Colorado where he married Betty Jane Coker in 1939.

After living and working in Denver for almost 20 years, Courtney and Betty returned to Kansas City where he worked as a painter for J. E. Dunn. He then worked for the Kansas City, Missouri Water Department and retired from the Department of Pollution Control in 1983.

Courtney served on the Executive Board of Kansas City Area National Council on Alcoholism. He was a member of the South Kansas City Group. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. He served as Senior Warden and was a long time vestry member at his former parrish of St. George Church.

Courtney was an avid gardener and spent many hours planting and tending his garden.

Courtney departed this life on Tuesday, November 26, 1991. He was preceded by a son, Joel D. Redmond and a daughter, Cathlccn Cash. He is survived by his wife, Betty. Other family survivors include: his children, Courtney T. Redmond, Jr., Los Angeles, California, Janice Williams-Myers, New Paltz, New York, Marilyn Glen, Savannah, Georgia, his grandchildren, Dee Anna, Charles, Jennifer, Maluwa, David, Plaisi, Court-ney III, Julia and Jonathan. Daughter-in-law, Mary Redmond and sons-in-law, Dr. Albert Williams-Myers, Dr. John Glen and Colonel John Cash; other relatives and friends who will affectionately remember him.
